Given the implementation of ICD-10, and the most recent coding specificity changes from CMS, an enhanced audit program certainly can be a good investment. However, is this increased audit activity actually helping you improve the performance of your department?

- Are you able to identify coding accuracy issues at a micro diagnostic and procedural level on an individual basis?
- Do you have a process in place to correct individual coder performance based on this hyper-targeted data and measure performance on an ongoing basis to ensure improvement?
